Being almost four months pregnant, I have reached the stage to where my regular clothes are starting to get tight, which means its time to start shopping for maternity clothes. One of my favorite holidays of the year is New Years Eve.  Whether you are attending a wild party with friends, spending a romantic evening with someone special, or going to a concert, chances are you want to look stunning on this special night.  After you have chosen the perfect outfit, shoes, accessories and hairstyle, you need to find the right makeup to complete your look.  I use to be a makeup artist and my personal favorite look is the Smokey Eye; it is sexy and sophisticated, everyone can pull it off and it’s easy to do!  Just read below for some helpful tips. I am also going to let you know where to get the best online bargains so you can save money.

Let me start with one specific product I love. The Smokey Eye Brush Set from Sephora (40 points/$), which is on sale for just $42, regularly $89. You can use the instructional booklet to help you create the look, but here is another easy way to create the look:

• The first step is to prepare your eye lid. Use a cream style concealer or heavy liquid foundation to cover the surface of your eye before you apply any eye makeup.  This helps create a smooth base and the makeup will last longer.
• Next you will need to apply your eyeliner. You will need to make the line thicker in the middle of the eye.  Smudge the lines with a “smudge” brush and blend upwards, (you can also use a q-tip or a sponge). The farther the color is from the lashes, the more it should fade.
• To create color on the bottom lashes, which is the key to smoky eye makeup you will need to use a lighter eyeliner. Once applied, you will need to smudge this for your smoky effect.
• Now lightly brush a dark colored powder shadow over the surface of the lid, including into the crease. Brush outward and with an upward motion. Stop short of the brow line and do not pass the outer edge of the brows on the sides.
• Sweep a little of the light powder shadow across the brow bone, blending lightly. Start the light shadow a little inside of the inner corner eye. This brightens and opens up the eye.
• Double check what you have done, and ensure that both eyes match.  You can add more color, but most importantly, make sure everything is blended.
• Lastly, finish up with several coats of mascara.  For a more dramatic look, you can apply false lashes.

Instead of the traditional black and grey smokey eye look, try using colors to really make your eyes pop.  Blue eyes: browns, golds, warm taupes; Green eyes: deep purples, plums, mauves, lilacs; Brown eyes: blues, turquoise, greens, brighter colors are best; Hazel eyes: your eye color can change like a chameleon; you can go either way with purples or browns.

And that's how the game is played.  You read a phrase of unrelated words to your teammate.  But those words rhyme with a real phrase that your teammate has to guess.  It's so fun, and it always become loud and crazy when we play!  This game can be played with  two people or more, so it's a good gift for couples too.  Get Mad Gab at eToys.com (24 points/$) and Memolink.com currently has two online store discounts if you shop there. Another good one for couples or families is Imagine If.  You get to choose eight people you know to list on the gameboard, then you draw Imagine If cards to relate to one of those people.  "Imagine if your mom were a character on Star Wars, which one would she be?" And everyone chooses.  It's so fun to hear why everyone chooses the way they do, but there is a little strategy involved, because the majority wins!  You can get Imagine If at ToysRUs (24 points/$) and right now ToysRUS is having their "Biggest December Sale Ever" were you can 25% off craft deals, too. 

If your family likes card games, may I suggest Uno Attack?  Uno Attack is a spin-off of the old Uno game, only this one comes with a little battery operated gizmo that shoots random amounts of uno cards at you.  So instead of 'drawing' you actually tap a button and wait for the card gun to go wild.  You may get just one card (lucky!) or you may get 15.  It's a lot of fun and good for ages 7 and up.  You can get this at Walmart.com (16 points/$).  Memolink has quite a few online deals through Walmart, including the Hottest Toys Rollback and Free Shipping from site to store.
